UFC Fight Night returns to ESPN+ on Saturday, June 26th with a 13-fight card capped by a heayvweight main event featuring No. 3 Ciryl Gane and No. 5 Alexander Volkov, as both look to get back into contention for the heavyweight championship.
Gane has shot to the top of the 265 lbs. division, and appears to be a legitimate problem. He’s 8-0 career with six stoppages, including taking out favored Jairzinho Rozenstruik by unanimous decision in February. The Frenchman also ended Junior dos Santos with a second round elbow last December. He lands 5.04 significant strikes per round in a UFC octagon, while absorbing just 1.85. He’s a -155 favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook in his first bout as a main eventer.
Volkov is a +125 underdog despite bringing plenty more experience with a 33-8 career mark. He knocked out the legend Alistair Overeem in February for what turned out to be the final UFC fight of the Dutchman’s career. The Russian took a unanimous decision loss to Curtis Blaydes one year ago in what basically an eliminator for a title shot. He lands 4.88 strikes per minute, while absorbing just 2.48 himself.
There are six fights on the main card starting at 4:00 p.m. ET, and seven on the preliminary card that kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET. Except for No. 15 women’s bantamweight Julia Avila on the early card, there are no other ranked fighters competing outside of the main event.
UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Volkov will be available for live stream on ESPN+. If you want to watch, you’ll need to purchase a subscription. If you purchase ESPN+ separately, it cost $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year. Or you can purchase it apart of the Disney+ bundle, which also features Hulu and ESPN+ for $13.99 per month.
