in a battle of ranked lightweights, #9 Islam Makhachev takes on #14 Thiago Moises tonight as the main event of UFC Fight Night on July 17th in Las Vegas.
Makhachev is one of the rising stars of MMA, with a 19-1 overall record and having won seven straight in the UFC. Coming into his prime at 29, he has 11 career stoppages, and is coming off a arm-triangle win over Drew Dober on March 6th of this year.
Moses found his way into the UFC with a Dana White’s Contender Series win in August of 2018. He’s 4-2 in the octagon since, having won three in a row to get to the Top 15 of the division. The American Top Team fighter out of Sao Paolo, Brazil, has nine career stoppages.
Keep an eye on this fight to start sometime between 11:45 p.m. and midnight on the east coast, so 8:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. Pacific Time. It will depend on what happens in the previous contests, but that’s a pretty good baseline to use here.
