There will be a pre-fight press conference ahead of Saturday’s UFC 264 card from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will chat with the media on Thursday, July 8th at 8:00 p.m. ET.
You can watch the press event as soon as it goes live here:
This is the third fight between No. 4 McGregor and No. 1 Poirier, with “Notorious” stopping “The Diamond” in the first round in 2014, and Poirier knocking off the former two-weight class champion in the second round in January. McGregor was particularly complimentary of Poirier after their tete-a-tete in January on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. “Fair play to Dustin, very complimentary of him,” he said.
But kindness and sportsmanship doesn’t sell PPV buys, so maybe look for a bit more microphone promo work for the lightweight that has been linked to a run in the WWE previously.
While there are no title fights on the card, No. 2 Gilbert Burns will face No. 4 Stephen Thompson at welterweight, and Tai Tuivasa takes on former NFL star Greg Hardy in a heavyweight matchup.
