Update — Muhammad defeated Burns by unanimous decision.
The co-main event for UFC 288 features a showdown between Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns. The fight will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey as the main card will stream on ESPN+ PPV starting at 10 p.m. ET.
Burns (22-5) is the favorite (-150) in the fight over Muhammad (22-3), who is +130 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The main event features Aljamain Sterling vs Henry Cejudo.

Belal Muhammad vs. Gilbert Burns round-by-round results
Round 1: Muhammad
Following a slow, feeling-each-other-out start, Muhammad style-switching fighting style slowed Gilbert Burns down along with some well-placed kicks.
Burns failed in his lone takedown attempt and ate some body kicks and shots to the face.
Round 2: Muhammad
Muhammad once again controlled the round with some strong body kicks to Burns, which is clearly taking its toll.
Burns appears to have injured his arm or shoulder in a Round 1 takedown attempt.
Round 3: Muhammad
Muhammad’s methodical approach continued to dominate the fight. Burns struggled to get anything going and was visibly frustrated after the round.
Round 4: Muhammad
Despite a hurt left shoulder, Burns was able to land some punches on Muhammad but he still wasn’t able to avoid the devastating left-body kicks.
Round 5: Muhammad
It was a valiant effort from a hurt Burns, but he never had a chance after the first round. Muhammad dissected his opponent with precise jabs and kicks in an impressive victory.
